ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 15, 2026) — WUCF TV has earned a 2026 Suncoast Emmy® Award nomination for We Change Lives, a campaign that brings the station's mission of the same name to life by showing how public media makes a difference across Central Florida.

Launched in 2025, the campaign was created to give Central Floridians a fuller picture of WUCF's role in the region. Many viewers know the station through the PBS programs they love, but its reach extends well beyond the screen. From helping young children build a foundation for learning to creating experiences that bring people together, WUCF is part of everyday life across Central Florida.

Through We Change Lives, WUCF shares those stories with the community, highlighting the difference public media can make and the role local support plays in making it possible.

"People know WUCF through the programs they watch, but they may not realize how much more we do in the community," said Jennifer Cook, WUCF Executive Director. "That's why we created We Change Lives. We wanted people to see the difference their support makes, whether it's helping a child learn something new or bringing families together through experiences they might not otherwise have. This nomination means a great deal to our team because it recognizes something we care deeply about: being there for the community that has always been there for us."

The nomination in the Community Service category comes on the heels of another recognition for WUCF's community impact.

Earlier this month, the station received the Community Engagement Specialty Award in the Orlando Sentinel Media Group's 2026 Top Workplaces competition. WUCF was also named a Central Florida Top Workplace for the third consecutive year, ranking No. 10 among 46 honorees in the small-company category.

The 50th Annual Suncoast Chapter Emmy® Awards, presented by the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, will take place Saturday, Dec. 5, 2026, in Hollywood, Florida, where winners will be announced.
