As subtropical storm Nicole approaches Florida, WUCF would like to remind you of some resources and helpful tips to prepare in advance.
Tips for Preparation:
- Make a Family Emergency Plan
- Prepare A Supply List
- Know Your Home. Know Your Zone.
- Stay tuned to the Radio, Television, or Social Media
- For Live Updates You Can Follow
- Locate Shelters Near You And Pet Shelters If Needed
A Supply list for when you are at the store:
- 3-day supply of water (one gallon per person, per day)
- 3-day supply of non-perishable food
- At least one change of clothes
- First-aid kit
- Battery-powered portable radio
- Flashlight, with extra batteries
- Extra battery packs for mobile devices
- Credit card AND cash
- Prescription and non-prescription medication
- Sleeping bag, blanket and/or pillow
- Emergency contact list (on paper)
- Special items for infants, elderly or disabled family members
