WUCF TV, Central Florida’s PBS station, earned a Suncoast Regional Emmy® from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for the Parks of the Past episode of Central Florida Roadtrip. The episode was honored in the Nostalgia Program category. Winners were announced virtually on Saturday, Dec. 12.
Hosted by WUCF Executive Director Dr. Phil Hoffman and produced by veteran Orlando television journalist Buddy Pittman, Central Florida Roadtrip explores the communities and history across the nine-county Central Florida area. In the Parks of the Past episode, viewers are taken on a journey through history with a look at some of the theme parks of Central Florida’s past including Silver Springs, Six Gun Territory, Cypress Gardens, Circus World, and Mystery Fun House to name a few.

I’m honored to earn the Emmy alongside Buddy Pittman, a great storyteller with deep roots here, and our entire WUCF production team.”
The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a nonprofit Florida corporation dedicated to excellence in television and offers the annual Regional Emmy Awards to television markets in the entire State of Florida; Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles and New Orleans, La.; Mobile, Ala.; Thomasville, Ga.; and Puerto Rico.
