Orlando, Fla. (April 27, 2026) — WUCF will open its doors to the community on Saturday, May 2, as part of Public Media Giving Days 2026. The free Open House invites guests to drop in throughout the day to explore the station and experience public media up close.
Visitors can enjoy self-guided tours of the WUCF PBS and WUCF Jazz studios, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how programs come to life.
Families can meet Xavier Riddle from PBS KIDS' Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum, take part in hands-on educational activities, and explore content from WUCF's original series, including Florida Road Trip and Destination Discovery.
The event will also feature Connecting Kids, part of WUCF's America250 initiative, with activities designed to spark curiosity and learning. Local food trucks will be on site with food available for purchase.
"WUCF is built with and for this community," said Jennifer Cook, Executive Director of WUCF. "This is a chance to come inside, connect with what we do and see how public media reflects and serves Central Florida."
As Central Florida's PBS and jazz station, WUCF reaches nearly 5 million residents across the region with trusted educational programming, local storytelling and cultural content. The Open House offers a chance to experience that mission firsthand and connect with the people behind it.
