ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2026) — WUCF will welcome families from across Central Florida to its 12th annual Be My Neighbor Day, a free, family-friendly celebration of kindness and community, on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Loch Haven Park in Orlando.
Inspired by the values of Daniel Tiger and PBS KIDS, Be My Neighbor Day invites children and caregivers to explore what it means to be a kind neighbor through fun, age-appropriate activities and hands-on opportunities to give back. Families may drop in at any time during the event and stay as long as they like.
Throughout the morning, families can participate in a variety of interactive stations, including:
- Community clean-up activities with Keep Orlando Beautiful
- Service projects such as packing resource kits with Help Now Osceola
- Live music performances by the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra
- Storytelling from local libraries and local authors
- Aspecial meet-and-greet with Daniel Tiger, a favorite PBS KIDS character
"Be My Neighbor Day is one of the ways WUCF brings the values families see on PBS KIDS into real life," said Jennifer Cook, executive director of WUCF. "Fred Rogers believed deeply in community, and his connection to Central Florida makes those values feel especially close to home. This event gives families the chance to live them out together."
Now in its 12th year, Be My Neighbor Day has become a beloved annual tradition for Central Florida families, blending play, learning and service in a welcoming environment. The event reflects WUCF's ongoing commitment to strengthening communities by bringing people together around shared values such as kindness, cooperation and caring for one another.
Be My Neighbor Day is made possible with support from PNC Grow Up Great® and Fred Rogers Productions, with local support from the Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation, Florida Prepaid and Window World of Central Florida. Community partners include Keep Orlando Beautiful, Help Now Osceola, Orlando Family Stage and the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Families are encouraged to register in advance. For more information and to register, visit wucf.org/BMND.
