WUCF TV, Central Florida’s PBS station, is debuting new locally produced programs and offering up three chances to score tickets to local concerts during its Summer Fund Drive beginning Saturday, June 4.

Central Florida Roadtrip is now.... Florida Road Trip and it’s going state-wide. Join the ride during this very special program to look back at where the program has been over the last five seasons, and where it’s going when it returns to WUCF in August. The Florida Road Trip special airs Thursday, June 9 at 8 p.m.

Also on June 9, viewers hit the road for a very special Live From Studio A recorded live at the new Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center. The program focuses on Jeff Rupert, host of Jazz and the American Spirit and Director of Jazz Studies at UCF, and the UCF Flying Horse Big Band’s performance during UCF Celebrates the Arts in April 2022. Live From Studio A: Jazz and the American Spirit airs June 9 at 8:30 p.m.

These local programs are possible because of WUCF’s viewers and donors.

“As Central Florida’s Storytellers, our staff has been hard at work to produce new shows highlighting the very best of our community in Live from Studio A and the new Florida Road Trip,” said Jennifer Cook, WUCF executive director. “And, as we close out our fiscal year, we encourage our viewers to become members and support the programs, such as these, that they enjoy day after day. We are grateful for the difference they make.”

In addition to the great programming, WUCF has three great opportunities to support local public media and receive concert tickets as a thank you gift.

  • Multi-Grammy Award®-winning artist, Michael Bublé announced his upcoming tour in support of his highly anticipated album, “Higher”. Bublé returns to Orlando’s Amway Center in August, and for becoming a member we will thank viewers with two tickets to the concert! Watch Great Performances: Tour Stop 148 with Michael Bublé on June 10 at 9 p.m.
  • The nine vocalists in Straight No Chaser can walk onstage anywhere in the world and immediately bring audiences to their feet. They do this with nothing more than microphones in hand, grins ear-to-ear, witty banter on point, and an uncanny ability to belt out songs with style, swagger, and spirit.  Straight No Chaser: The 25th Anniversary Celebration airs June 5 at 4:30 p.m. Tickets for the show in November at Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center are available to those who donate.
  • And, on June 6 at 10:30 p.m., viewers can see Benise 20th Anniversary Tour and grab tickets, as a thank you gift for becoming a member, to his October show at Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center.

Almost 50 percent of WUCF’s annual funding comes from its viewers. Donations provide us with reliable funding to support our mission to provide valuable educational programming and services throughout our community and allow us to acquire the PBS programs our viewers love and produce local favorites they care about most.
