Create a new holiday tradition with WUCF and the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park. A Classic Christmas is one of Central Florida’s most-loved holiday traditions, and new this year it will be broadcast across Central Florida.
Join WUCF TV on Monday, Dec. 24 at 8 p.m. for the pre-recorded concert performance, featuring the 175-voice Bach Festival Choir, Youth Choir and Orchestra under the direction of Dr. John V. Sinclair, with sounds of the holiday season.
“We are all moved by the power of music, and as we travel across Central Florida, viewers ask for more local music,” said Dr. Phil Hoffman, WUCF TV’s executive director. “This partnership with the Bach Festival Society allows us to showcase talented local musicians while bringing a new holiday tradition to families across our nine-county viewing area.”
Led by Sinclair, the society’s artistic director and conductor, the esteemed ensembles offer traditional holiday selections from their rich and widely varied repertoire. Many of these works are well-known Christmas hymns and carols beautifully arranged specifically for the Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra.
“The Bach Festival Society is the oldest performing arts organization in the area and we’re proud to be able to partner with WUCF to share these talented performers and artists and the beauty of Knowles Memorial Chapel with all of Central Florida,” said Betsy Gwinn, Executive Director of the Bach Festival Society.
A Classic Christmas will repeat on WUCF TV on Christmas Day at 4 p.m.
Listeners to WUCF FM can enjoy the concert as part of Live from Studio A, airing Dec. 22 and 25 at 7 p.m. on 89.9FM.
