In celebration of Veterans Day, WUCF TV salutes and honors the courageous men and women of the armed forces who have fought for our nation’s freedoms. This month WUCF has picked several programs to honor and remember those who have fought and died for our country.
On Veterans’ Day, November 11 at 10 p.m., WUCF will air the premiere of The Warrior Tradition, an hour long documentary about the largely untold story of Native Americans in the United States military. The film explores the points of view of the native Americans who have served in the military, following the warrior traditions of their ancestors to protect the lands they live on. View a trailer for the documentary here.
WUCF will also re-air its military focused episode of Central Florida Roadtrip on Thursday, November 14 at 8 p.m. The episode takes a look back at Central Florida’s key role in our nation’s military, it’s legacy as a pilot training ground, and the lives of those who volunteered their lives in defense of their homes.
“WUCF strives to tell stories about what it means to be American. Part of that American story is the long history of honorable men and women who fought and continue to fight for our ability to live freely,” said Dr. Phil Hoffman, WUCF Executive Director. “WUCF is proud to be a storyteller to help both older and younger viewers remember or learn about our history.”
