Orlando, FL – Attention Kids! Grab your family and join WUCF for a Meet The Helpers Family Pop Up event on Saturday, September 7, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Hart Memorial Library in Kissimmee. The free event will feature activities designed for children of all ages and their families, offering an immersive experience into emergency preparedness, democracy, and the world of work. Registration can be found here.
“With this event we hope to open a world of possibilities for our youngest learners here in Central Florida,” said Lauren Taylor, WUCF Education Services Manager. “This event will encourage career exploration, interactions with real-life Helpers from our community, and offer fun activities for our local families.”
Designed to educate children ages 3-7 years, WUCF’s Meet The Helpers is a multi-platform initiative that introduces children to community helpers through video content, family activities, classroom resources and more.
WUCF's Family Pop Up event will give children an opportunity to meet our helpers in person and experience our Touch-A-Tool station. Plus, kids and their families can learn about elections and participate in the voting process at the Democracy station by casting a vote for their favorite PBS KIDS program to air on WUCF PBS in the Fall!
