New episodes of Side Player Stories Season 3 launch every Thursday
ORLANDO, Fla. (June 29, 2023) – You may not know their names, but you know their sounds – Side Player Stories is back for Season 3 beginning July 6, 2023. This weekly series hosted by musician and WUCF-FM producer; Jesse Morgado gives listeners an in-depth look inside the lives of professional musicians. The first episode in the six-part series featuring G.E. Smith, Hall & Oates guitarist, will be available on July 6, at wucf.org/sideplayerstories, with additional episodes released each Thursday.
“We are excited to give our listeners a new season of Side Player Stories,” said Jesse Morgado, Host of WUCF’s Side Player Stories. “Season 3 will explore more of the music industry’s elite artists and will continue to pull the curtain back on what life is like for some of the best professional musicians in the music industry.”
Side Player Stories offers fast-paced and fun conversations with musical guests who are “side players” – artists including violinist Caitlin Evanson (Taylor Swift, Dave Stewart, Ringo Starr), bassist and UCF professor Richard Drexler (Jeff Berlin Trio, Mel Torme and Mose Allison) and bassist, singer and songwriter Cat Popper (Ryan Adams & the Cardinals, Jack White, Puss n Boots) whose unique talents and musical abilities create opportunities to make their living playing for many different bands.
In the first episode, Hall & Oates guitarist (at the height of their career), G.E. Smith tells all with a twinkle in his eye – giving insight on SNL and the sacrifices it took to get to where he is. Later in July, violinist, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Caitlin Evanson, who toured with Taylor Swift from her FEARLESS era to her RED album and has made a name for herself as a songwriter, talks about what it was like to be on a journey with a rapidly growing successful artist. Additionally, viewers will hear from trumpeter Jimmy King. King has been with Bruno Mars for over a decade now with 3 world tours and 2 Super Bowls under his belt.
