WUCF FM kicked off its 45th anniversary celebration toda

WUCF FM, Central Florida's premier jazz station, kicked off its 45th anniversary celebration today, marking four and a half decades of enriching the region with exceptional artistic and cultural programming. From April 1, 2024, through October 31, 2024, join us in commemorating this milestone as we reflect on our rich history and look forward to a future filled with continued innovation, arts, culture, and creativity.

WUCF FM began as a student station at the University of Central Florida, first joining the airwaves September 12, 1979. Since that date, the station has evolved into a cornerstone of Central Florida's cultural landscape. In 1994, it transitioned into a professionally staffed public radio station, and in the mid-1990s, it embraced jazz as its primary format, becoming a vital platform for this uniquely American art form.

"In celebrating our 45th anniversary, WUCF FM reflects on its profound impact over the years, " said Jennifer Cook, Executive Director. “Our commitment to promoting cultural enrichment and community engagement remains steadfast. I’m proud of the work our station has done for the past 45 years in the jazz community and beyond."

Throughout the years, WUCF FM has remained committed to its mission of providing listeners with high-quality jazz programming, featuring both classic favorites and emerging artists. With a focus on community engagement and education, the station has nurtured the next generation of radio professionals, offering valuable training opportunities to UCF students.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, WUCF FM has curated a series of exciting events and initiatives:
