Central Florida Roadtrip on CreateTV

Born out of the ideas to allow viewers to learn more about the cities and town in which they live and visit, WUCF’s Central Florida Roadtrip will be getting national public media exposure via Create TV starting October 21.

In its seventh season, Central Florida Roadtrip explores some of the unique history, stories and people that have made Central Florida one of the fastest growing communities. Take a ride and discover stories such as Old Bob “The Horse” in Sanford; explore a family feud in Kissimmee; jump from the planes over the city of DeLand; and journey through the nature and technology that call Kennedy Space Center home. Other locations include Cocoa Beach, Winter Garden, Daytona Beach, Oviedo, Apopka, and themed episodes such as the award-winning Parks of the Past.

“At WUCF, we enjoy telling Central Florida’s story, including the stories not often talked about,” said Jennifer Cook, WUCF Interim Executive Director. “We hope that national viewers enjoy Central Florida Roadtrip’s peek into the stories behind the people and places that make Central Florida a unique place to live.”

Create TV was launched in 2006 to serve viewers’ increasing interest in these “do-it-yourself” programs. The program genres seen on Create® TV include viewers' favorite public television series and specials on food, travel, home and garden, arts and crafts, fitness and other lifestyle interests. The programs seen on Create come from American Public Television, The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA), Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), and a handful of local public television stations across the country.

Central Florida Roadtrip will air Thursdays at 10 a.m., 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Create TV.
