WUCF Wins Emmy for GRR-IFIC Neighbors Program

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Suncoast Chapter honored WUCF TV, Central Florida’s PBS station, with a Suncoast Regional Emmy® for the locally produced Grr-ific Neighbors special. The program was nominated in the Children/Youth (12 and under) Long Form Content category. Emmys were awarded virtually on Saturday, December 11, 2021.

“We are thrilled to be awarded this Emmy for our locally produced children's special Grr-ific Neighbors,” said Jennifer Cook, WUCF interim executive director. “This special represents what WUCF strives for in the community – making an impact on families in Central Florida by showcasing education in a fun and entertaining way.”

In GRR-IFIC Neighbors, viewers celebrate what it means to be a caring neighbor by visiting friends throughout the community. Learning is done through music, storytime, and at-home activities.

The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a nonprofit Florida corporation dedicated to excellence in television and offers the annual Regional Emmy Awards to television markets in the entire State of Florida; Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and New Orleans, La.; Mobile, Ala.; Thomasville, Ga.; and Puerto Rico.
