WUCF TV, Central Florida’s PBS station, is hosting an exclusive advanced screening of the new Downton Abbey movie before it’s available to the general public. The screening will be held on Sunday, September 15 at 2 p.m. at the Old Mill Playhouse in The Villages. The film will be released nationally on Friday, September 20, 2019.
Guests who donate for the event can walk the red carpet, participate in games and contests, including best dressed, will receive a snack collection to enjoy during the film, and will take home a goodie bag at the end of the event. The package is available now for a one-time donation of $60.
“WUCF is excited to offer this advanced screening to our loyal Downton Abbey viewers,” said Phil Hoffman, WUCF executive director. “Support for events such as this allows us to continue bringing quality programming to the Central Florida community.”
The television series Downton Abbey followed the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who worked for them at the turn of the 20th century in an Edwardian English country house. Over its 6 seasons, the series garnered 3 Golden Globe Awards, 15 Primetime Emmy Awards, 69 Emmy nominations in total, making Downton Abbey the most nominated non-US television show in the history of the Emmys - even earning a Special BAFTA award and a Guinness World Record for the highest critically rated TV show along the way.
