To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing on July 20, 1969, the United States Postal Service will release two new forever stamps.

Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin is featured on one stamp in his spacesuit standing on the surface of the moon. The photo of Aldrin was taken by fellow astronaut Neil Armstrong. A photo of the moon taken in 2010 by Gregory H. Revera showing the landing site of the lunar module in the Sea of Tranquility is featured on the second stamp.

WUCF will commemorate the anniversary of the moon landing with the premiere of a three-night six-hour documentary series called "Chasing the Moon" in July. The documentary, airing July 8-10, is about the space race from its earliest beginnings to the monumental achievement of the first lunar landing in 1969 and beyond.

No details are currently available for the release of the stamps.
