WUCF TV, Central Florida’s PBS station, is asking viewers to support the community programming they love during its spring fundraising drive beginning Saturday, February 26, 2022.
Ahead of the season two premiere, relive the magic of the first season of Sanditon beginning February 27 at 9 p.m. The TV series is a bold continuation of Jane Austen’s final, unfinished novel. Sanditon is a sleepy seaside village—but for those with vision, like Tom Parker, it will soon be a deluxe resort! Season one depicts what happens when the high-spirited and independent Charlotte Heywood arrives in town as Parker’s guest…and what happens when she goes toe-to-toe with his prickly (yet smoldering) brother, Sidney. The seaside period drama became such a hit with audiences that they clamored for its renewal -- season two premieres March 20, 2022 on WUCF.
We’ve listened to our viewers and so many of them are excited and ready to participate in local events again. We have two great opportunities to support local public media and receive tickets as a thank you gift.
- Join Pavlo on March 4 and 7, along the Aegean Sea for a dream-concert-of-a-lifetime, Pavlo: Live from Santorini! Experience new, Santorini-inspired songs. Viewers can grab a pair of tickets to his April 30 show at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts during the broadcast.
- And, on March 5, 6, 7 and 8, viewers can see Timeless Live in Japan capturing Il Divo, backed by a full orchestra, serenading fans with their unique classical take on both pop favorites and traditional standards in four languages. Tickets for Il Divo’s April 23 show at the King Center in Melbourne are available to those who donate.
“When viewers become members, it provides WUCF with steady, reliable funding to support our mission to provide valuable educational programming and services throughout our community,” said Jennifer Cook, WUCF executive director. “As Central Florida’s Storytellers, we want to continue bring trustworthy news, educational resources, great jazz music, and local and national programming to our Central Florida community.”
Additional programming including Rick Steves’ Why We Travel, African Americans Many Rivers to Cross and 20 Things to Do in Midsomer will air during the fundraising drive.
Almost 50 percent of WUCF’s annual funding comes from its viewers. It’s the difference we make together. Donations allow us, Central Florida’s community station, to acquire the PBS programs our viewers love and produce local favorites they care about most.
